Active listening means fully concentrating, understanding, and responding to what\u2019s being communicated. For ESL students, active listening can accelerate language learning, build confidence, and foster meaningful connections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog explores how our school and active listening go hand in hand to help you succeed in mastering English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Is Active Listening?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Active listening is the intentional process of listening attentively, interpreting meaning, and giving thoughtful responses. When practicing active listening, you are focused on understanding the speaker\u2019s message, considering the context, and responding thoughtfully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active listening requires patience and concentration, especially when studying a new language. It involves breaking down sounds, understanding new phrases, and comprehending various accents and intonations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why GLCT provides students with ample opportunities to practice active listening. We encourage students to practice this skill during every interaction, from lessons and discussions to everyday conversations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
